Kevin, a reader, just phoned in with specific info on El Mirador homes that some of you have requested:
- 17077 El Mirador: Kevin says the house is fine, but a truck parked in the front was destroyed by the fire.
- 17153 El Mirador: Again, the house itself is fine. Some scrub brush in the ravine was burned, but the landscaping near the structure and the house itself sustained no damage.
Kevin says the flames got "pretty darn close" to both of these homes, but they're fine.

Thanks for the information. It is particularly gratifying to know for sure. Monday night we recruited three sets of firefighters (7 trucks) to our house and the two contiguous homes. We fought the fire shoulder to shoulder with these wonderful guys for 3 hours until the fires were knocked down. Things got a bit scary with 17122 El Mirador suddenly bursting into flames, so we left quickly and have not been able to return.
We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the firefighters; and thanks to you for the information!
